What treatments does prosthodontics include?
Replacing individual teeth
Using an implant, we can fully restore a tooth that has been lost naturally through decay or has been extracted. The implant can be placed in the site of the original tooth root where it will fuse to the bone over time. A custom-made crown can then be placed on the implant, looking just like the tooth that was lost.
Bridges can also be used to replace a missing tooth. Using the teeth on either side of the gap, bridges support a false tooth between two crowns.
Replacing multiple teeth
If you need to replace more than one tooth or had to have several removed, we can restore them using a partial denture plate or use implants. Dentures are removable false teeth that can be used to partially restore a smile, hooking onto the existing teeth.
Replacing a full-arch
For a full-mouth restoration, complete dentures can be used to bring functionality back and dramatically improve lives. Complete dentures fit into the mouth, using the contours of the mouth anatomy to stay in place.
Implants can be used to support complete dentures, providing a more secure alternative. The acrylic plate can be removed, resulting in a more comfortable and secure fit.
